DHL adds capacity in Asia

DHL Express has added airfreight capacity in Asia by upgrading flights out of Hanoi with a Boeing 737-800 Freighter.

Operated by K-Mile Asia, a partner of DHL, the 737-800 will have a gross payload of 140 tonnes a week as it travels from Hanoi to Hong Kong and Bangkok then back to Hanoi six times a week.

Replacing 737-400SF services, the new aircraft increases capacity by 30% and frequencies have risen from five to six flights per week.

Ken Lee, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific says: “We are seeing increased activity in cross-border trade and e-commerce within the region due to improved logistics, enhanced connectedness as well as reduced trade barriers.”
