DHL and Shopify make cross-border shipping easier

DHL Group and Shopify are extending their partnership to provide merchants with faster and simpler ways to ship on domestic and cross-border services.

Pre-integrating DHL into the Shopify Shipping platform gives sellers access to DHL’s global network and shipping solutions.

Sellers no longer need to onboard a logistics provider independently, streamlining operations and reducing administrative burdens.

The integration also helps sellers to manage customs, legal and administrative tasks.

Katja Busch, Chief Commercial Officer of DHL and Head of DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation said: “We know that navigating customs clearance, duties and tax compliance, in addition to finding a dependable delivery partner, can be complex without expert assistance. The partnership between DHL and Shopify allows merchants to tap into DHL's expertise and use our unrivalled network, products and services effortlessly. It's all geared to enabling merchants to deliver to their customers in a hassle-free manner.”

Harley Finkelstein, President of Shopify added: “With Shopify Shipping, we're doubling down on unified commerce, giving merchants a logistics solution that's not just seamless, but scales with their business. By launching with DHL as a pre-integrated partner, we're streamlining fulfilment in one powerful hub, breaking down barriers and unlocking global opportunities for merchants to thrive.”

The DHL integration with Shopify is live in the USA and Germany.

Merchants in the USA benefit from Delivered Duty Paid shipping, which protects consumers from unexpected additional fees such as customs charges or import sales tax.

Throughout 2025 and 2026, DHL shipping options on Shopify will be rolled out to other major markets in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.
