Dronamics and Hellenic Post (ELTA) have signed an agreement to launch the first postal service using cargo drones in Greece.

Drones designed and built by Dronamics will provide middle-mile deliveries to Hellenic Post, the national postal service for Greece, starting with domestic services connecting the mainland with islands before looking at international cooperation to provide deliveries from Athens to key European cities.

Greece is the launch market for Dronamics’ commercial operations, which are expected to start early next year.

Dronamics will establish a same day service connecting Athens with the industrial north of Greece and the islands in the south.

Golden Cargo has been appointed General Sales and Service Agent for Dronamics in Greece.

Svilen Rangelov, Co-Founder and CEO of Dronamics, says, “Dronamics is on a mission to enable same day delivery for everyone, everywhere, and joining forces with ELTA helps us move forward in our goal. This collaboration is a pivotal step toward empowering communities, bridging distances and making essential services affordable and accessible for everyone.”

Grigoris Sklikas, CEO of Hellenic Post, adds, “The Hellenic Post-Dronamics partnership is an important initiative that will change the map in the Greek courier market. Together with Dronamics, we will provide services all over Greece faster, farther and in a greener way. This partnership is a turning point in our reorganisation, since it summarises our motto for the future: Reaching everywhere, better.”

Last month, Dronamics signed an agreement with Emirates Post Group to develop cargo drone services in the UAE.
