DSV completes €14.3 billion acquisition of Schenker

DSV has completed its acquisition of Schenker from Deutsche Bahn in a deal worth €14.3 billion.

The acquisition has doubled the DSV’s size and the combined company will have €41.6 billion of revenue and workforce of 160,000 employees in 90 countries.

Combining the companies will strengthen DSV’s global network and provide access to new markets.

It will also provide DSV with a stronger platform for future growth and the development of a more sustainable, flexible and digitalised transport and logistics industry.

Jens Lund, Group CEO of DSV, says, “With this acquisition, we become a world-leading player in global transport and logistics, at a time when global supply chains are more in focus than ever before, and our customers need a reliable and agile global network of services and products.”

Jochen Thewes, CEO of Schenker, adds, “DSV and Schenker are a strong match with many similarities in business models and services, shared values and high operational standards, and we look forward to getting to work.”

DSV has started integrating Schenker into its business and key priorities are to avoid disruption and retain high service levels for customers.
