Embraer confirms converted freighter order

Embraer has confirmed its second order for passenger to freighter conversions, following Nordic Aviation Capital commitment to 10 units.

Deliveries of the E-Jet Freighters will start in 2024 and they will offer 50% more volume capacity, three times the range of large cargo turboprops, and up to 30% lower operating costs than narrowbody aircraft.

The firm order for 10 aircraft is to an undisclosed customer, and is the second order following Nordic Aviation Capital agreeing in principle to take up to 10 slots for E190F/E195Fs in May.

The conversions will be performed at Embraer’s facilities in Brazil and includes a main deck front cargo door, cargo handling system, floor reinforcement, Rigid Cargo Barrier, cargo smoke detection system, Air Management System changes, interior removal, and provisions for hazardous material transportation.

The maximum gross structural payload of the E190F is 13.1 tonnes and 14.3 tonnes for the E195F.

For typical e-commerce cargo density, the E190F can handle 10.7 tonnes and the E190F can take 12.3 tonnes.
