The C-390 touched down at Canoas Air Base yesterday (Thursday 16 May) carrying the aid.
For the last week, Embraer and the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA) from the Brazilian Air Force base in São José dos Campos have been working together to expand support communities affected by the floods.
Integrating multiple modes of transport means Rio Grande do Sul has received non-perishable food, drinking water, cleaning products, personal hygiene items and other supplies from different institutions.
It is expected that around 100 tons of donations will be shipped to the region through the combined efforts of Embraer, its employees, DCTA and Embraer High Schools.
The action is part of the Embraer Institute’s Climate Emergency programme, which supported families affected by the rains in Recife in 2022 and on the north coast of São Paulo last year.
