FedEx Express has transported 76 tons of medical aid for Ukrainian refugees in Poland in partnership with humanitarian organisation Direct Relief.

The aid was transported on a chartered Boeing 777 and included an emergency field hospital donated by the state of California.

It also carried medicines and supplies including trauma and wound care medication, chronic disease medication, oxygen concentrators, and Covid-19 antiviral tablets.

Thomas Tighe, President and CEO of Direct Relief says: “Direct Relief is deeply grateful to FedEx for stepping up, yet again, to provide logistics and delivery of medical support so critically needed by people whose lives have been upended and face tremendous hardship and uncertainty.”

Karen Reddington, Regional President of Europe at FedEx Express says: “We are grateful to be able to use our global network to donate logistics support for organisations like Direct Relief who have deep experience in sourcing and delivering critical supplies in times of crisis. What's happening is having a devastating impact on so many lives, including our own Ukrainian team members, and we remain committed to helping.”
