FedEx joins ALTA as associate member

FedEx has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) as an associate member as it looks to strengthen its presence in the region.

Across Latin America and the Caribbean, FedEx’s network covers more than 50 countries and territories, providing connections to 650 airports globally with a fleet of 33 aircraft in the region.

The express transport company is working on strengthening its commercial ties and air logistics network in the region to provide better global connections.

FedEx is improving connections for customers in the region with new flights to Miami, providing greater international connections.

Jose Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director and CEO of ALTA, says, “We are excited to work with FedEx to continue driving the development in the region. Their ability to facilitate the flow of goods and services, especially in key sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing, is an invaluable asset to our members and the regional economy as a whole.”

Basil Khalil, Vice President for Operations in the Caribbean and Central America at FedEx, adds, “At FedEx, we are dedicated to working alongside organisations like ALTA to enhance connectivity and accessibility through air transit, promote global trade and support economic growth in the region.”
