The GTP is designed to help Hactl and its tenants to reduce energy consumption and prepare for Hong Kong’s Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Charging Scheme by providing a system of quantitative measurements.
Hactl has installed smart meters in participating tenants’ offices to help track energy consumption and has organised briefings on the new waste scheme.
Hactl has installed an additional recycling machine at its terminal and will continue to collect waste for recycling to help tenants manage their waste.
The Performance Reward Scheme is a key element of the GTP where tenants set targets for reducing energy consumption and waste and for increasing recycling.
Successfully achieving targets will earn trophies and vouchers which tenants’ staff can use to buy goods from local enterprises.
The GTP is voluntary and tenants occupying over 70% of SuperTerminal 1’s rented office space have committed to signing the pact.
It was officially launched today (Wednesday 20 March) at SuperTerminal 1 with an opening ceremony and the first in a series of quarterly sustainability events for tenants.
