Hongyuan Group has signed a deal with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for up to 20 Boeing 777-300 passenger to freighter conversions.
It has placed firm orders for 11 B777-300ERSFs from IAI with an option for another 9.
The Chinese company says its vision is to grow its long-haul network, and the 777-300 will be the backbone of its fleet.
The 777-300ERSF from IAI has 25% more volume capacity than the 777-200LRF with 90% of the commonality, and burns 21% less fuel per tonne than 747-400s.
