IAG Cargo moves Covid vaccines to fight the virus

Pharma Airlines
IAG Cargo has transported more than 10 million Covid-19 vaccines as part of the global effort to fight the disease.

The vaccines have been transported using IAG Cargo’s Constant Climate service that has helped distribute vaccines and pharmaceuticals for several years.

Shipments include more than four million doses to Abuja, Nigeria in collaboration with UNICEF and its COVAX initiative. The Abuja shipment was transported on two British Airways B777-200s flying from London Heathrow in July.

Another 300,000 doses flew to Jamaica in July on a British Airways B777-200 and delivered in partnership with UK not-for-profit international development company Crown Agents.

Since the start of the pandemic IAG Cargo has transported pharmaceuticals and other cargo to a number of countries, often at short notice, including transporting medical aid to India during a peak in cases. Items included critical care equipment, PPE and oxygen concentrators on two emergency charters.
