IAG Cargo restarts services to Caracas and Rio

IAG Cargo is adding capacity in Latin America with the return of flights from Madrid to Caracas and Rio de Janeiro.

The services will be operated by Iberia, flying an Airbus A350 into Caracas and an A330-200 to Rio de Janeiro 3 times a week.

The routes are popular for moving perishables such as flowers, papayas, mangoes and figs, using IAG Cargo’s Constant Fresh service.

Rodrigo Casal, Regional Commercial Manager for Latin America at IAG Cargo, says, “The revival of these services will have a great impact on the economy and livelihoods in both Caracas and Rio de Janeiro, as exporting food and perishables plays a huge part in their economies. When it comes to transporting perishables - air cargo plays a vital role, ensuring products arrive on supermarket shelves in the same condition as harvest.”

With the addition of Caracas and Rio de Janeiro, Iberia has re-established its entire network of flights and destinations in Latin America.
