inter airport Southeast Asia welcomes industry to Singapore

Asia Pacific
inter airport Southeast Asia has returned after a 4 year hiatus, welcoming industry experts to the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

The 8th edition of inter airport Southeast Asia, which runs until 3 March, is expected to welcome over 4,000 visitors and comes at a time when the aviation industry in Asia is returning to normal as countries like China open up.

The conference theme is “Re-Conditioning for Asia's Long-Haul Growth”, offering an outlook for the Asia Pacific region, highlighting the challenges and opportunities and looking at how the industry will evolve.

Day 2 of the conference, held today (Thursday 2 March), shines a spotlight on sustainability, carbon net zero and eco-airports.

India is another focus area as the aviation boom will require purchasing billions of dollars of new equipment, and China’s Beijing Daxing International Airport will be discussed as it looks to make Beijing into the centre of global aviation.

Day 3 (Friday 3 March), will offer insights into the opportunities posed by several key Asian markets as new airport infrastructure development plans unfold and the underlying drivers of growth will be discussed.

Brendan Sobie, Independent Analyst and Consultant at Sobie Aviation, says, “Once growth resumes airports will be rushing to get ahead of the curve. As more terminals and runways are reaching their maximum capacity, there is an associated need for more equipment. There is hardly a market in Asia that will not have expansion plans in the next few years, but every market is different in terms of their growth trajectory and requirement.”

At the exhibition, 150 exhibitors from 28 countries are showcasing a range of products with new launches including the ITW GSE 7400 eGPU battery powered ground power unit, the Sanxing TowFLEXX TF5 Towbarless remote-controlled aircraft tug and Cognitec FaceVACS-Entry facial recognition technology.
