James Cracknell OBE hosts BIFA Freight Service Awards 2024

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) held its 2024 Freight Service Awards, hosted by James Cracknell OBE.

A record-breaking audience of more than 550 guests joined Cracknell at The Brewery in London to celebrate outstanding performance in the freight industry.

Cracknell announced nine winning companies and two individuals across 11 categories.

The Air Cargo Services category, sponsored by IAG Cargo, was won by Uniserve Holdings, beating Brunel Air Cargo, Kerry Logistics and Metro Shipping.

Denholm Good Logistics won the Ocean Services award, sponsored by Port Express, beating Atlantic Freight, Kerry Logistics and NNR Global Logistics UK.

Macbeth Insurance Brokers sponsored the Project Forwarding category, which was won by Deugro (UK) ahead of Maersk Logistics and Services UK, Perform Logistics and Westbound Logistics Services.

The Specialist Services category, sponsored Descartes + Thyme IT, was won by John Pipe International ahead of Daily Freight Services, Irish Freight Solutions, Metro Shipping and Samphire Cargo.

Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics won the Supply Chain Management category, which was sponsored by Descartes + BoxTop Technologies, beating Noatum Logistics UK, Seafast Logistics and Uniserve Holdings.

The Sustainable Logistics & the Environment Award category, sponsored by American Airlines Cargo, was won by DHL Global Forwarding, beating strong competition from DSV Road, Ital Logistics, Peterson Freight Management, Rhenus Logistics and Wallis Shipping Services.

United Worldwide Logistics won the Extra Mile award, sponsored by Descartes, beating Carousel Logistics, Killick Martin & Company, Pro-Logist and Seafast Logistics.

The Staff Development category, sponsored by Albacore Systems, was won by Speedy Freight, ahead of Deugro (UK), PFE Express and Unsworth UK.

TT Club sponsored the European Logistics category, which was won by Cargo Overseas, and the other finalists were Mercury Freight, NNR Global Logistics and Transportify.

Joseph Freestone of Woodland Group was named Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Menzies, beating Dylan Cheesman of Unsworth UK, Keira Greenough of Cardinal Global Logistics, Leah Griggs of Laser Transport International, Luis Matthews of Ligentia UK and Iwan Williams of United Worldwide Logistics.

Thomas Bedöcs of DHL Global Forwarding won Young Freight Forwarder of the Year, sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Cargo, beating Charmaine Anderson of Blue Water Shipping UK, Georgia Gibson of cargo-partner, Magdalena Krasinska of Unsworth UK, and both Ben Thompson and Charlie Griffiths from NNR Global Logistics UK.
