Jan Krems named as TIACA Hall of Fame 2025 recipient

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has named Jan Krems as the 2025 Hall of Fame Award Recipient.

The President of United Cargo has been recognised for his leadership, customer-centric vision and innovation in the air cargo industry.

Under his guidance, United Cargo has become the largest belly-only carrier in the world.

Steven Polmans, Chairman of TIACA said: “Jan Krems exemplifies the kind of leadership our industry needs—visionary, people-focused, and relentlessly innovative. His impact on air cargo spans decades, and his work continues to elevate not only the companies he leads but the entire sector. We are honoured to welcome Jan into the TIACA Hall of Fame and recognise the legacy he is building.”

Throughout his career, Krems has demonstrated innovative thinking including United Cargo’s decision to launch cargo-only flights as an immediate response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which enabled United to resume international operations faster than other global carriers.

United operated over 17,000 cargo-only flights throughout the pandemic.

Prior to joining United, Krems worked at KLM Cargo for 27 years, taking different roles including playing a pivotal role in the global integration of Air France and KLM Cargo, aligning international offices, systems and teams during and after the merger.

Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA said: “Whether integrating global operations or championing customer-centric strategies, he has always led with integrity and insight. Jan's induction into the Hall of Fame is a celebration of a remarkable journey and a well-deserved tribute to his lasting contributions to our industry.”

Krems will be officially inducted into the TIACA Hall of Fame at the TIACA Executive Summit, which is being held from 24-26 June in Hong Kong.
