Delen has been nominated in recognition of his long and distinguished career in the freight forwarding community, establishing a new era of collaboration between IATA and FIATA and inspiring young people to launch a career in logistics.
He started his career at Air Express International in 1965 and following several takeovers scaled the heights of DHL leadership, ending up in the position of CEO Benelux and France at DHL Global Forwarding.
In the forwarding community, Delen headed CLECAT, the EU-level representative body of freight forwarders.
At FIATA, he held positions within the FIATA Air Freight Institute and IATA/FIATA Consultative Council and joined the leadership where he acted as Treasurer and ultimately as President.
Delen is still active today and willing to share his knowledge and experience.
Announcing Delen as the 2023 TIACA Hall of Fame recipient, Sebastiaan Scholte, Chair of TIACA Chairman’s Council, says, “Jean-Claude has distinguished himself as a leader in the industry and has been passionate in his efforts to establish solid relationships that allow for collaboration and partnership with the freight forwarding community and air cargo as well as to encourage the next generation to join our industry. We look forward to formally presenting his award during the Executive Summit in Brussels next month.”
