Kerry Logistics and My Jet expand airfreight services

Kerry Logistics has joined forces with My Jet Xpress Airlines to expand airfreight services within Asia, making Macau International Airport their transit hub.

The airfreight solution was launched in March 2021 to support one Kerry Logistics’ e-commerce customers who was struggling to obtain freight capacity from Macau into Malaysia and Indonesia at the height of the pandemic.

Macau was chosen as a transit hub due to its proximity to the customer’s distribution centre, the ability to carry products containing batteries, and efficient customs clearance.

Mohamed Yunos Bin Mohamed Ishak, Chairman of My Jet Xpress says: “We hope to see My Jet Xpress emerge as one of the main players in the air cargo industry, expanding not only in Southeast Asia but also throughout Asia with a larger fleet comprising narrow and wide body aircraft.”

Mathieu Biron, Managing Director – Global Freight Forwarding at Kerry Logistics says: “We designed and launched solutions that enabled us to fill the gap between what limited capacity carriers can provide vis-a-vis the demand from customers. The initiative between My Jet Xpress and Kerry Logistics is a perfect example of two partners designing a unique solution to support the customers, and it proved effective.”

The two companies are looking to expand their partnership with scheduled services from Kuala Lumpur and Shenzhen to destinations within Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
