Kindelbacher to succeed Townes as ACL Airshop CEO

Bernhard Kindelbacher will take over as CEO of ACL Airshop, succeeding Steve Townes who will move into an advisory role as Vice Chairman.

Taking on the new role on 1 March, Kindelbacher will bring with him over 30 years of experience in air cargo leadership and logistics management from his career at Lufthansa Cargo.

His career at Lufthansa Cargo reached the position of Managing Director for all cargo operations in the USA and Canada.

Other key roles at Lufthansa Cargo included Senior VP Strategy & Business Development and Senior VP Network, Product & Marketing.

Kindelbacher was responsible for numerous transformation programmes and the first cargo joint ventures with All Nippon Airways, United Cargo and Cathay Pacific.

Townes will continue serving the company in the advisory Vice Chairman role after nine years in charge, leading the company through significant growth.
