Korean Air launches SAF cargo programme

Korean Air has launched a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programme for cargo customers and freight forwarders.

Customers can make customised contributions through the programme, which Korean Air will use to purchase additional SAF and share the carbon emission reductions with customers.

Korean Air has helped lay the foundations for SAF usage in the Korean domestic market by actively participating in the government’s eco-friendly biofuel activation alliance to introduce and promote biofuel.

The airline will continue to work with stakeholders in the government, private institutions and refiners to review demonstration projects to increase SAF production and application.

Jaedong Eum, Senior Vice President and Head of Korean Air’s Cargo Business Division, says, “We're pleased to work together with our clients to reduce carbon emissions from cargo operations through the SAF programme. Korean Air is committed to sustainable development with our next generation in mind.”
