LATAM Cargo flies horses for 2023 Pan American Games

LATAM Cargo has transported 196 horses to and from Chile for the 2023 Pan American Games.

In 3 weeks, LATAM Cargo transported horses from the US, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico and Paraguay on Boeing 767 Freighters.

The horses were taking part in events including dressage, show jumping and eventing.

91 horses were transported to Chile for the international competition and 105 will return to the country of their origin once the competition is over.

Juan Pablo Marquez, Senior Cargo Operations Manager in Chile at LATAM Cargo, says, “For us, it is an honour to be part of this major sporting event that is 'Santiago 2023,' and for equestrian federations to choose us as their trusted option for transporting the horses they will use in the competitions. The logistics process started 3 months before the event involving the coordination of details including optimal routes, stables, horse teams and professional caregivers.
