The extra flights, which have tentatively been planned for Brussels Airport, will mean 12 weekly connections from 1 October, providing capacity to key locations including Viracopos and Santiago.
The Boeing 767-300F flights will add more capacity for perishable cargo customers from countries such as Peru, Chile, Ecuador and Colombia to connect with Europe.
Capacity on freighters will exceed 600 tons a week, complementing 1,100 tons of capacity on passenger flights.
Matias Cortina, Vice President Commercial for Europe at LATAM Cargo Group, says, “With this new growth, we will offer 140% more capacity to and from Europe and double the cargo destinations in South America compared to 2019. This significant increase in capacity also applies to our offerings for Ecuadorian flowers.”
Claudio Torres, Commercial Senior Vice President for South America at LATAM Cargo Group, adds, “This capacity increase will not only expand our points of origin in South America but also offer our perishable cargo customers more options and greater flexibility in transporting their products.”
