Lufthansa Cargo's first A321F takes to the skies

Lufthansa Cargo’s first Airbus A321F has operated its maiden flight, serving the ever-growing express and e-commerce markets.

Flight number LH8350 left Frankfurt at 16.21 CET yesterday (15 March), heading to Dublin and onwards to Manchester.

The aircraft, D-AEUC, was christened “Hello Europe” and was loaded with express and general cargo for its inaugural flight.

Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo says the A321F will serve the e-commerce market, offering customers more capacity and faster connections within Europe and on medium-haul routes.

She says: “The new aircraft will serve a wide range of customers and routes, both scheduled and charter. We look forward to providing much-needed capacity in the European market and further strengthening our position as the leading airfreight carrier in Europe.”

The A321F is operated by Lufthansa CityLine, and a second aircraft will enter the fleet in the summer, both operated on wet-lease agreements.

Jens Fehlinger, Managing Director of Lufthansa CityLine says: “We have put Cargo Operations at Lufthansa CityLine on its feet in a very short time. Together with Lufthansa Cargo, we are very proud to launch this first converted A321F certified in Germany.”
