Maersk adds flights between the US and China

A.P. Moller – Maersk has launched US-China air links to plug the gap between the world’s 2 largest markets for ocean freight customers.

Using Boeing 767-300s operated by Amerijet International Airlines, Maersk will fly between Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Shenyang Taoxian International Airport and between Chicago Rockford International Airport and Hangzhou Xiaoshin International Airport twice a week, with a third frequency planned from May.

Michel Pozas Lucic, Global Head of Air at A.P. Moller – Maersk, says, “With the introduction of these new routes, we are further connecting North America and Asia Pacific through regular flights and controlled capacity for our customers. At Maersk, we want to ensure that our customers have the visibility, reliability, and resilience in their supply chains. Air freight continues to be an important asset in our customer´s end-to-end logistics needs.”

Maersk has been investing in its airfreight services with a new airfreight gateway in Chicago to serve customers using O’Hare and Rockford airports.

In Europe, Maersk’s first flight between Billund in Denmark and Hangzhou took off on 20 March, which will operate 3 times a week.

It has also recently launched services between Greenville and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, operated by Amerijet.
