Matthew Ware joins Mark 3 as CEO

Former CEO of CFL, Matthew Ware has taken over as CEO of express parcel and freight logistics company Mark 3 International.

Ware was at CFL, Heathrow Airport’s only on-site express courier handler for eight years and he worked at FedEx for 16 years before that.

He said: “I am delighted to be joining Mark 3 at this time; the global trading ecosystem has recently suffered some major shocks, but we are very well placed to help our customers continue to import and export efficiently and cost-effectively.”

Mark 3 was founded in 1990 and has grown into one of the UK’s experts in UK/US trade with expertise in handling e-commerce shipments into the USA.

Analysis from ECDB says e-commerce revenue will hit $5 trillion in 2025 with the USA and China accounting for 70% of the figure.

The UK is the world's third largest e-commerce market.

It has warehousing and clearance facilities at Heathrow and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Speaking about his time at CFL, Ware said: “I am hugely proud of what we achieved in my time there. The team is simply fantastic. They know the business inside out and have developed a number of strong and close relationships with airlines across the world that help create a global marketplace for UK exporters.”

At CFL, Ware oversaw the introduction of a new security system that automates and simplifies manifest information sharing with Border Force and other parties including HMRC, meaning less disruption and more consistent collection times for CFL’s customers.

David Taylor, Commercial Director of Mark 3 said: “We are hugely excited to welcome Matthew as our new CEO. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise and is recognised in the media as a key spokesperson on global air cargo issues.”
