My Freighter takes delivery of first B747

My Freighter has taken delivery of its first Boeing 747 Freighter as it looks to make Uzbekistan an international air cargo hub.

The Boeing 747-281F arrived in Tashkent on Sunday 23 October from Indonesia where it had undergone technical work.

Using the aircraft’s capacity and range, My Freighter wants to use Tashkent as a hub connecting China and southeast Asia with Europe and the United States.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, General Director of My Freighter, says, “The reforms carried out under the leadership of our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev provide huge opportunities for the implementation of ambitious goals and grandiose tasks. I am very glad that the results of our company are the fruits of these reforms in terms of strategic development of the aviation industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

He adds that the growth of e-commerce, geopolitical changes and changes in the global market present opportunities.

He says, “In this situation, Uzbekistan has a unique potential to become a major air transport hub not only in the region, but also beyond.”

My Freighter was established in 2019, when it operated 30 flights, which has risen to 410.

It plans to purchase 5 more 747s and increase its fleet to 20 aircraft in the next 5 years.
