Nippon Express doubles footprint at Schiphol

Nippon Express (Nederland) has started operations at its Schiphol Airport Logistics Centre located near the airport.

The logistics centre, based at the Schiphol Trade Park 7km southwest of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has twice the space of its existing warehouse with a total floor area of 12,238m2.

It is equipped with temperature-controlled spaces for pharmaceutical products to be stored at 15 to 25C, 2 to 8C and -15 to -25C with dedicated truck docks for pharma industry customers.

ULD-handling systems capable of processing 20ft pallets have been built to accommodate heavyweight and long cargo.

Operations started on 15 July and the facility has 19 truck docks, two ULD-handling systems, complete CCTV coverage, solar panels and a backup generator for temperature-controlled storage spaces.
