
The new service provides an overnight link between Chubu Airport in central Japan, loading cargo in the evening for a direct flight to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport where shipments are picked up at NX USA’s Columbus Branch.
It is serving demand for urgent cargo transport to Ohio from central Japan where automotive-related industries are strong and bypasses Chicago O’Hare International Airport where cargo has been delivered up to now.
Nippon Express operates an international cargo handling site inside Chubu Airport and its own facility in Columbus.
Same-day delivery has been made possible in Ohio by combining transport from the Columbus branch to the delivery destination with Nippon Express’ optional urgent delivery service.
Lead times have been reduced by approximately one day by integrating arrival and departure options within Nippon Express Group.
