NX-Green SAF Program launched in Japan

Nippon Express has expanded its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programme by launching the NX-Green SAF Program to Japan.

The NX-Green SAF Program, which started service at NX Europe in July last year, is a carbon insetting programme to reduce CO2 emissions from air transport services provided by NX Group.

SAF can reduce CO2 emissions by around 80% compared to conventional fossil fuel and the programme is available for transported services arranged by NX Group.

It is the first Japanese forwarder to offer the service without restrictions on the choice of airlines.

Customers will be issued with a CO2 reduction verification statement verified by SGS that can be used in information disclosure required by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project.

NX Group has set the goals of reducing its Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions by 50% from 2013 levels by 2030 and carbon neutrality for Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 2050.
