Pigs fly with Atran Airlines

Atran Airlines and Intradco Global have transported 89 pigs to Vladivostok where they will live their new life as part of a breeding programme.

The pigs flew from Moscow’s Vnukovo airport to Vladivostok with a technical stop in Krasnoyarsk where they had a rest and were able to eat and have some fresh air.

The shipment weighed over 12 tonnes and covered almost 9,000km in a Boeing 737-800BCF, and when they arrived in Vladivostok, the pigs were driven to their new home at an agricultural complex.

Both teams from Atran and Intradco worked on designing and producing dedicated wooden boxes, and Atran worked with colleagues at Volga-Dnepr Group to find a suitable supplier in Russia to manufacturer the cages.

Vasiliy Zhukov, Commercial Director of Atran Airlines says: “We are always here to guide our customers through these complex shipments - from choosing the right transportation method to import/export permits, quarantine regulations, veterinary health inspections and beyond. We would like to thank our partners – Intradco Global and Vnukovo Cargo for their support and streamlined operations.”
