Flights started on Sunday 1 October offering 100 tonnes of cargo capacity each way, adding to 10 weekly passenger services.
Warsaw is Qatar Airways’ only station in Poland and will provide main deck capacity for imports and exports, which are expected to mainly consist of general cargo and perishables.
Elisabeth Oudkerk, SVP Cargo Sales and Network Planning at Qatar Airways Cargo, says, “Qatar Airways Cargo has been serving Eastern Europe for many years and is very pleased to announce freighters to Warsaw which will complement the passenger flights to this important city. The launch of this service will provide consistent and reliable freighter operations between Poland and Qatar.”
A welcome event was held to celebrate the first flight, which was attended by airline management, airport officials and customers.
