Qatar Airways reconnects with key destinations

Qatar Airways Cargo is adding capacity this summer by relaunching popular flights across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The services are passenger flights with belly capacity, with flights to Tokyo’s Haneda airport restarting last week, bringing Qatar Airways’ capacity in Japan to 600 tonnes a week each way.

General cargo makes up most of the exports from Japan, followed by vulnerable cargo and dangerous goods, with imports consisting of general cargo, fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables.

In Europe, Airbus A320 flights to Sarajevo started on 30 May with 4 flights a week, providing 6 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity.

Flights to Nice were relaunched on 9 May, bringing capacity to and from France to 1,100 tonnes a week each way.

Daily flights to Manama in Bahrain started on 25, providing 11 tonnes of cargo space on A320 each week as Qatar Airways increases capacity in the Middle East.

It has introduced 2 Boeing 777 Freighters on Dammam flights and increased the frequency of Riyadh flights to 5 B777Fs a week on top of 4 daily passenger flights.

Guillaume Halleux, Chief Officer Cargo of Qatar Airways, says, “Through such expansions, reintroductions and capacity increases via our Next Generation strategy and VISION 2027, we are bringing enhancements to our services and operations globally. The relaunch of flights to these destinations as well as the increased frequencies offer our customers direct and increased capacity to these destinations.”
