Quote and book added to IATA Net Rates

A ‘quote and book’ function has been added to the IATA Net Rates platform, and IAG Cargo is the first carrier to integrate it into its system.

The Net Rates platform can be accessed through Net Rates online or integrated with customer systems, distributing rates to market while simplifying and reducing the cost of rate handling procedures.

Quote and book offers freight forwarders dynamic pricing for their shipments and is available for booking capacity from Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, the US, and Vietnam, and other markets will be added in the coming weeks.

It supports loose cargo and ULD pricing, general, express and perishable shipments as well as allocations and block space agreements.

Frederic Leger, Interim Senior Vice President for Commercial Products and Services at IATA says: “IATA Net Rates new ‘quote and book’ function simplifies and accelerates the rate distribution and booking process between airlines and freight forwarders, saving valuable time by eliminating manual, labour-intensive processes.”

John Cheetham, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Cargo adds: “We’re seeing customers globally increasingly wanting more choice and flexibility to book their freight across our network. This expansion comes at an apt time for IAG Cargo as capacity on the network increases.”
