SAASA signs finance agreement for Madrid warehouse

SAASA Global has secured €14 million of financing from Frux Capital to construct its first cargo warehouse at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

Constructing the warehouse will make SAASA Global the third largest third-party cargo handler at Madrid airport with a 6,100m2 warehouse on a 14,000m2 property.

The €14 million credit agreement with Frux Capital matures in two years with the option to extend for another year, and represents 70% of the €20.5 million investment to construct the warehouse.

The other €6.5 million will be covered by Grupo Andino, the owner of Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos (SAASA).

SAASA Global has also signed an agreement with Napisa to construct the warehouse, which is scheduled for completion on 28 February 2026.

Napisa will develop warehouses, offices, manoeuvring areas and fencing on the property.

A contract has also been signed with SACO Airport Equipment worth €2.8 million to manufacture, install and commission warehouse equipment.

The cargo terminal will have 80,000 tonnes of capacity and have 1,200m2 of climate-controlled facilities for perishable cargo.

It will also have a Border Inspection Centre to inspect cargo entering the European Union as the first point of entry.
