SEKO Logistics strengthens airfreight team

SEKO Logistics is entering the next phase of airfreight growth by strengthening its team to exploit opportunities for critical products, expansion of e-commerce, and new business from acquired companies.

The team is being strengthened with the appointment of Christopher Gregg as Senior Vice President Global Airfreight, who joins from Hellmann Worldwide Logistics where he was Vice President Airfreight, North America.

At SEKO, he is based in Atlanta, Georgia, recognising its position as key airfreight hub.

Shawn Richard has been promoted to Senior Vice President International Service Centers (ISC), helping guide SEKO as it moves away from traditional airfreight gateways to the service centres, which have driven growth in airfreight and e-commerce shipping services.

SEKO operates ISCs at New York JFK and Los Angeles airports, and will be expanding its network over the next 6-12 months.

The ISCs are Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (CCSF), and act as import CSFs for inbound parcels from Europe and Asia.

Steen Christensen, who joined SEKO as Chief Operating Officer – International in June, says, “As we expand geographically – both organically and through acquisitions – we must have the appropriate leadership in place to manage the future development and expansion of our airfreight products. These new appointments for Chris and Shawn support the needs of our customers and airline partners, the growth of our volumes, and the new business we are gaining.”
