Silk Way West Airlines joins WebCargo platform

Silk Way West Airlines has joined WebCargo’s booking platform, and will make its capacity available from January 2022.

By joining the platform, the Azerbaijani freighter airline will offer real-time pricing and booking across its fleet of 13 freighter aircraft to over 10,000 freight forwarders who use WebCargo.

Demand for Digital Air Cargo via WebCargo’s platform has soared in 2021, with over 10 times growth on a strong 2020, resulting in hundreds of thousands of eBookings.

Wolfgang Meier, CEO and President of Silk Way West Airlines says the pandemic accelerated the need for digital booking services, saying: “Building on the strength of a full freighter network, Silk Way West Airlines looks forward to the new year by extending greater service accessibility and capacity visibility to our valued customers 24/7.”

Manel Galindo, CEO of WebCargo adds that digitalisation has gone from something people questioned whether the industry could embrace to asking when it would happen to asking how much faster it can go.

He says: “We’re witnessing a massive shift towards Digital Air Cargo reflected on WebCargo’s booking and rate management platform and are proud to welcome Silk Way West Airlines to our list of innovative partner airlines.”
