Singapore Airlines has upgraded cool chain services with the addition from Releye RLP containers from Envirotainer.
The containers will be used on both freighter and passenger aircraft, and are powered by rechargeable batteries capable of maintaining the shipment’s integrity for over 170 hours on a single charge.
Its live monitoring system allows customers to track aspects of the shipment’s condition including location, temperature and humidity, and battery levels of the unit.
Chin Yau Seng, senior vice president cargo at Singapore Airlines says: “These new containers, coupled with our extensive global network, will bring new standards to the handling of critical pharmaceutical cargo shipments. This is timely, given the importance of the safe and reliable transportation of pharmaceuticals amid the current pandemic.”
