SkyCell provides AFKLMP and K+N with real-time ULD visibility

SkyCell is enhancing ULD tracking for Air France KLM Martinair (AFKLMP) Cargo and Kuehne+Nagel by providing real-time visibility.

AFKLMP has named SkyCell as its preferred ULD tracking partner, using its Internet of Things (IoT) technology and the SkyMind platform to provide real-time visibility for ULD operations.

The solution is designed for pharmaceutical transport to provide AFKLMP with enhanced control and efficiency of logistics operations.

SkyMind uses advanced technology including readers and tags to provide real-time visibility, which helps the AFKLMP team make informed decisions and operations proactively rather than reactively.

Kuehne+Nagel has installed gateway readers at its Frankfurt Airport facility, which were installed on Monday 6 May to provide live tracking of SkyMind AFKLMP ULDs.

Holger Ketz, Global Head of Air Logistics Network & Carrier Management at Kuehne+Nagel, says, “We are pleased to support Air France KLM Martinair Cargo as the first customer to utilise this highly innovative method of tracking ULDs, further reinforcing our position as an industry leader.”

Andy Newbold, Global Key Account Director at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo, adds, “With SkyMind, Air France KLM Martinair Cargo will gain complete control over its ULD operations — mitigating the extensive manual efforts historically associated with ULD tracing and tracking, leading to substantial time and cost savings, as well as boosting operational efficiency.”
