Skyway picks Hactl to handle cargo in Hong Kong

Skyway Airlines has selected Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (Hactl) for cargo handling services at Hong Kong International Airport.

The recently-launched airline from the Philippines started flying to Hong Kong on 20 March, operating the flights to target the e-commerce sector.

The contract covers terminal handling, ramp handling and documentation.

Skyway is operating six flights a week to Hong Kong using a Boeing 737-400 with 18 tonnes of capacity.

Three of the flights are connected with Clark and the other three go to Manila.

Jose Angelo Peralta, President and CEO of Skyway Airlines, says launching international flights is an important step after gaining its Air Operator Certificate.

He says, “We are very pleased to have the one-stop service support from Hactl for our freighter operation into Hong Kong International Airport, which greatly reduced our challenges in the service launch. We hope to contribute to the trade development between Hong Kong and the Philippines.”

Joanna Li, Executive Director – Commercial and Business Development, adds, “We welcome this latest addition to our carrier family, which further extends our global connections. We wish Skyway Airlines every success with this first international service, and we greatly look forward to supporting the airline in growing its business.”
