Swoop Aero partners with Iris Automation

Swoop Aero has partnered with Iris Automation to offer Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone services to safely use drones in urban and rural areas.

Because of the partnership, Australian drone logistics company Swoop Aero will be able to expand globally and gain operational approvals and certifications.

It uses Iris’ Casia detect-and-avoid technology for medical supply deliveries with EBOS Healthcare in Australia and New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Airspace Integration Trials Programme.

The detect-and-avoid system detects other aircraft, working with the Swoop system to trigger automated manoeuvres to avoid collisions and alert the pilot.

Jon Damush, CEO of Iris Automation says: “An innovator like Swoop Aero is doing the right things to safely introduce aerial services to deliver essential supplies to previously inaccessible areas and we are excited to partner with them on this mission.”
