Talma awarded CEIV Lithium Batteries and Smart Facility certification

Talma Servicios Aeroportuarios has been awarded CEIV Lithium Batteries and Smart Facility certification by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The CEIV certificate for lithium batteries recognises compliance with infrastructure, equipment and cargo procedure conditions for the safe handling of lithium batteries.

The certificate was developed due to the number of incidents caused by lithium batteries not being declared, with Arturo Cassinelli, Corporate General Manager saying, “For this reason, committed to good practices for the handling of lithium batteries, we have obtained the CEIV Lithium certification, which is granted to operators who comply with the rigorous standards and safety obligations in the transport of this type of goods throughout the supply chain.”

Operational Capacity of Smart Facilities (Smart Facility) recognises compliance of general cargo handling facilities, dangerous goods, live animals, perishables, pharmaceuticals and mail handling under current IATA standards and regulations.

Cassinelli says, “We are extremely proud to receive these certifications, which corroborate the quality and excellence of the services we provide as airport services in the country. With these two recognitions, we have obtained a total of eight IATA certifications that accredit us as leaders in the sector.”
