TIACA extends sustainability awards deadline

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has extended the deadline for submissions for the fourth edition of the Air Cargo Sustainability Awards until 12 September.

The awards, sponsored by CHAMP Cargosystems, recognises businesses and industry initiatives making the air cargo industry more sustainable.

It has 2 categories, one for start-ups and small businesses, and a corporate prize for companies demonstrating solutions and practices that can make a difference in areas aligned with the key objectives for sustainable air cargo found in TIACA’s Sustainability Roadmap.

The start-up and small business prize recognises young companies and small businesses, offering $10,000 for the winner and $2,500 each for 2 runners-up.

The corporate prize is open to established corporations, international organisations and scholars with a long-standing presence in the community.

All shortlisted candidates will be recognised with access to exclusive TIACA events and speaking opportunities, publicity in TIACA’s communications and networking opportunities.

Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA, says, “To date, we have received many quality applications for this year’s awards and we look forward to receiving additional applications during this extended period, in particular, I urge start-up enterprises to submit and to use the awards programmes as a springboard to promote their creative innovations and solutions.”

A panel of independent industry and sustainability experts will select a corporate winner and 3 start-up/small business finalists, and they will be invited to present their solutions at the Air Cargo Forum, which will be held in Miami from 8-10 November.
