The 3 finalists are Pledge for freight emissions calculation and offsetting tools, Regent Craft for emission-free cargo transportation using sea gliders, and VRR for addressing ULD imbalances.

They were picked by a jury of 5 industry leaders and sustainability champions who evaluated the submissions on criteria including impact on society and industry, ease of implementation, innovation and the wow factor.

The awards are being sponsored by IT solutions provider CHAMP Cargosystems and an awards ceremony will be held during the TIACA Executive Summit being held in Brussels, Belgium where awards will be presented to the Corporate and Start-Up/Small Business winners and the 2 runners-up.

The finalists will deliver presentations at the Executive Summit in front of the audience who will vote for a winner.

The winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize and the 2 runners-up will each receive $2,500.

Chris McDermott, CEO of CHAMP Cargosystems, says, “We were pleased to see so many strong submissions in this year’s Air Cargo Sustainability Awards in the Start-Up and Small Business category, and the jury has worked hard to select our three impressive finalists. I wish them the best of luck with their presentations at the Executive Summit.”

Steven Polmans, Chairman of TIACA, adds, “We had a lot of great submissions in the Start-up/Small Business category and I am sure it was hard for the jury to decide on just three finalists. We are looking forward to the presentations from Pledge, Regent Craft and VRR during the Executive Summit and can’t wait for the audience to select the winner in this category.”
