TIACA welcomes new members to Board of Directors

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has appointed six new members to serve on the Board of Directors representing different parts of the industry.

The new board members are Jannie Davel, Senior Vice President of MSC Air Cargo; Martin Drew, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings; Diogo Elias, Senior Vice President of Avianca Cargo; Dirk Goovaerts, CEO of Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa of Swissport International; Boon Kiam Kuah, Senior Vice President Cargo Services of SATS; and Nichole Schulz, Director of Industry Affairs of UPS.

The seat allocation on the Board is full with one vacancy reserved for a representative of the shipper community with TIACA adding that seats may become available when current Board terms end.

Steven Polmans, Chairman of TIACA, says, “A strong and diverse Board has proven beneficial to the transformation of the association over the last few years. The appointment of these new Board Members will not only ensure that we remain agile and relevant but will also provide the Board with a fresh perspective.”

Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA adds that 2024 is a critical year for TIACA as it grows and invests in programmes such as BlueSky, Invest in Climate Action and the Air Cargo Training Library, and plans for the Air Cargo Forum, which will be held in Miami from 11-14 November.

He says, “The Board has tasked the Secretariat to continue to expand other TIACA programmes that tackle industry challenges through a united voice to enhance a safe, efficient and robust air cargo industry, designed to meet the needs of today whilst anticipating the needs of tomorrow.”
