Turkish Technic to convert A330s for EFW

Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has signed a partnership with Turkish Technic making it the first third party conversion house for its Airbus A330P2F programme.

The first A330P2F will be converted at Turkish Technic’s facility in Istanbul in the third quarter of 2023, adding to conversion sites which have been set up in the US and China to increase conversion capacity.

EFW’s A330P2F programme was developed in collaboration with ST Engineering and Airbus, and is available with 2 variants, the A330-200 and A330-300.

The A330-200P2F has a gross payload up to 61 tons and the A330-300P2F can carry up to 63 tons and a containerised volume of up to 526m3.

Jordi Boto, CEO of EFW, says, “We have a growing P2F order book which mirrors a strong market demand for Airbus freighter conversions, with the A330P2F programme being increasingly considered as the preferred next-generation platform in the medium to widebody category. Through our collaboration with Turkish Technic, which has deep experience in maintaining Airbus aircraft, we will ensure meeting our customer commitments in a robust manner.”

Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board of Turkish Technic, adds, “Passenger-to-freighter conversions require a combination of industry-leading expertise, structural skills and operational excellence. With extensive know-how and close collaboration with suppliers, we are always well equipped to provide technical services and solutions for our customers. We look forward to expanding our partnership further with EFW.”
