Upgraded CASSLink goes live in the US

The modernised CASSLink has gone live in the US, simplifying billing and settling of accounts between airlines and freight forwarders.

CASSLink, which is used by more than 15,000 freight forwarders, is an invoicing system for billings and payments between airlines and freight forwarders participating in the Cargo Accounts Settlement System (CASS).

New features include a friendly and intuitive user interface, self-service functions, real-time reporting and online dispute resolution, accommodation of bilateral commercial agreements and IATA resolution requirements, a tax calculation mechanism, risk assessment tool, and new payment options.

IATA and its wholly owned subsidiary, Cargo Network Services worked with IBS Software to develop the new CASSLink, which will be rolled out into other markets from this quarter and throughout 2023.

Muhammed Albakri, Senior Vice President, Financial Settlement and Distribution Services at IATA, says, “New CASSLink is designed to meet the billing and payment requirements of the air cargo value chain, today and in future. It is the most price competitive solution in the market, with no charge to agents and forwarders.”

Akshay Shrivastava, Head of Consulting and Digital Transformation at IBS Software, adds, “As air cargo grows, so do the challenges for airlines, freight forwarders and other players in handling payments in an increasingly complex value chain. The air cargo industry has a golden opportunity to influence the global supply chain, making payments simpler and more efficient is critical to enticing and keeping customers.”
