Volga-Dnepr flies Covid-19 test kits to Denmark

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has completed the last in a series of six charter flights carrying Covid-19 test kits for the Danish government.

Its Antonov AN-124-100, RA-82044, landed at Billund Airport on 31 January carrying 72 tonnes of test kits, the last in a series of flights in collaboration with UK-based freight forwarder JAG-UFS.

Over 12 million test kits were transported from Shanghai to Billund during January 2022, averaging 72 tonnes per flight.

On 29 January, two Volga-Dnepr AN-124s were in Billund’s airspace simultaneously, with RA-82043 arriving five minutes after the departure of RA-82046.

Ekaterina Andreeva, Commercial Director of Volga-Dnepr Airlines says: “We keep receiving requests for the transportation of test kits as the demand for Covid-19 tests augments amid the spread of the Omicron variant. We would like to thank Gary Wilcox (CEO) at JAG-UFS for once again entrusting us to deliver such critical cargo.”
