WestJet launches pet services at UK airports

WestJet Cargo has expanded its pet transportation service to three UK airports, an announcement it made on International Dog Day.

The airline has made pet transportation services available at London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Edinburgh airports in response to growing demand for services between Europe and Canada.

Services are tailored to specific needs of all pets including brachycephalic breeds, which require special attention during air travel.

WestJet Cargo adheres to IATA’s Live Animal Regulations and all pets are transported in pressurised, temperature-controlled cargo holds for a safe and comfortable journey.

Pet owners are provided with pre-flight preparation guidelines and WestJet Cargo maintains open communication throughout the journey.

Kirsten de Bruijn, Executive Vice President of WestJet Cargo, says, “By extending our pet transportation service to LGW, LHR, and EDI, we are enhancing connectivity for pet owners and ensuring that their pets receive the highest standard of care throughout their journey.”
