Yusen Logistics joins Korean Air SAF programme

Korean Air is increasing the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for cargo services by welcoming Yusen Logistics to its programme.

The companies signed a Sustainable Aviation Fuel Cooperation Program Agreement at Yusen Logistics’ headquarters in Tokyo.

Signing the agreement makes Yusen Logistics the first Japanese company to join Korean Air’s SAF programme and the companies will promote SAF usage within Asia.

Jaedong Eum, Senior Vice President and Head of Cargo Business Division at Korean Air, says, “We are delighted to welcome Yusen Logistics as our cargo SAF programme partner, to jointly promote and implement SAF usage. We remain committed to the industry’s climate change goals, and the sustainable development of the air cargo industry.”

Eisuke Fukagawa, Global Head of Airfreight Forwarding Group at Yusen Logistics, says, “Yusen Logistics is also committed to the 2050 net-zero target. With this partnership with Korean Air, we are able to support our customers to decarbonise their supply chains and help stimulate larger supply for SAF.”
