IAG Cargo reconnects Dublin with Miami

IAG Cargo is adding transatlantic capacity by restarting flights between Dublin and Miami operated by Aer Lingus.

Starting with 2 flights a week, a third flight will be added from 31 October, operating on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using an Airbus A330-300 offering 20 tonnes of capacity per flight.

The capacity will support the pharmaceutical industry in Ireland, where 120 overseas companies have plants including 9 of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Certified under the Irish Exporters Association (IEA) GDP passport programme, IAG Cargo can move pharmaceutical and medical products that require temperature sensitive handling.

Daniel Byrne, Regional Commercial Manager UK and Ireland at IAG Cargo, says, “I’m very pleased to be offering our customers the opportunity to transport vital pharmaceutical cargo and medical equipment between Europe and the USA. As the air cargo industry heads into the busy Q4 period, it’s important as a company that we continue to revive and introduce routes across our expansive wide-body network.”

Pravin Singh, Vice President Commercial, Americas at IAG Cargo, adds, “We look forward to providing this service for our customers to our base in Dublin, following a temporary pause. Miami is an important part of our network, allowing customers to also move their products from Central and South America through our interline partners, supplementing our own capacity.”
