Swiss WorldCargo and FIEGE open Zurich Airport airmail facility

Swiss WorldCargo and FIEGE Air Cargo Logistics have opened an airmail handling facility at Zurich Airport.

The facility was opened on 3 March with a ribbon cutting ceremony and it will be operated by FIEGE.

It will serve customers in Zurich between 05.00 and 21.00 CET with import mail being processed during the operating hours.

The set-up will offer shorter transit times with a minimum connection time six hours and guarantee same-day connections for mail shipments arriving in Zurich on flights landing before 17.00 CET.

They will reach their final destination in Europe or connect to late evening international flights within the same day.

Alain Chisari, Head of Swiss WorldCargo, says, “We are very enthusiastic to be partnering with FIEGE Air Cargo Logistics to further enhance our mail handling procedures. By combining our strengths, we are not only developing our services further but also creating new opportunities to deliver greater value to our customers.”

Benjamin Looser, Managing Director of FIEGE Air Cargo Logistics, adds, “With our expertise in air cargo handling, automation and digitalisation, we will jointly develop airmail handling in Zurich and create added value for Swiss WorldCargo's customers.”
